Dubai South, the urban master development focusing on aviation, logistics, and real estate, alongside Aldar, the UAE’s leading real estate developer, manager, and investor, has officially commenced the construction of a state-of-the-art logistics facility.
The initiative is part of their recent agreement to enhance Grade A logistics facilities within Dubai South’s Logistics District, which aims to transform the logistics landscape.
Strategic logistics facilityÂ
Industry leaders, including Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of the Logistics District at Dubai South, and David Dudley, Aldar’s Chief Partnerships and Investments Officer, marked the ceremonial start of construction.
The event was also attended by senior executives from both companies, signifying the project’s importance and the collaborative effort between Dubai South and Aldar.
Strategically positioned near Al Maktoum International Airport, the new logistics facility spans approximately 23,000 square metres.
Designed to offer both bonded and non-bonded services, it features a usable eaves height of 16 metres and temperature control maintained at 24 degrees Celsius.
With its completion expected by the end of 2024, the facility is poised to contribute significantly to the logistics sector’s efficiency and capacity.
Commitment to the logistics sector
Expressing his views on the project, Mohsen Ahmad highlighted the facility’s anticipated impact on the logistics sector and Dubai’s ambition to solidify its status as a global logistics hub.
He stated, “We will spare no effort to support Aldar’s venture into the sector and look forward to announcing the commencement of construction work at further logistics facilities.”
